This is my charter post. I’ve been wanting to do this blog for a while, and am excited to get underway. I love music. I love writing. I want to combine my two interests in the same way that every self-respecting hipster twentysomething does: in a music blog. Even though these things are a dime a dozen, I’m going to offer something different. I’m not going to kowtow to any scene or salivate over anything with enough “cool” factor. I’m not going to focus on the mainstream, but I’m not going to shun it just because it is popular. I focus on what music I like and what I feel like saying about it. And I have impeccable taste.

Within the blog I am going to review new songs/albums/music videos as well as publish lists and write essays on different issues. Insofar as the reviews go, I will mainly focus on the album format as a unified work of artistic intent.

Hopefully a few people out there will find some sort of entertainment, perspective, for fulfillment from reading the thoughts of one music lover. I know I will. So, as Duke Orsino say’s in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, “If music be the food of love, then play on.” Let’s hope the music never stops.
